There were some people who were quite surprised when we said we were bringing two dogs home, as in the past we'd only ever had one. But, with the size issue slightly different from Danes (!) and us really wanting two dogs, two litter brothers seemed perfect. To date, they have been a dream to have around and having two can double the work sometimes, but its also lovely watching them play, run and curl up together to sleep. We feel that they relish each other's company.
So, the boys have been home for a week now, and their personalities are certainly coming through.
Originally we thought Archie was the more outgoing, adventurous and mischievous of the two puppies, but it seems they both hold these characteristics! Angus is slightly more cuddly and craves a bit more attention from us, but Archie also likes a cuddle and easily falls asleep in your arms. Oh, and Archie snores!!!
As a healthy Cairn should have, they are both full of energy. Another breed characteristic as they needed stamina and energy to hunt in the Scottish Highlands. As pack animals, they are very good with other dogs. Archie and Angus are great friends - they both enjoy a good play together and tear around the house and garden. They are, for the most part, inseparable and if one is doing something (naughty or otherwise!) then the other isn't too far behind.
They never seem to stay still enough to have their picture taken...
They are very loving dogs...here, Gerry has left the kitchen and they are both wondering where on earth he's gone and why on earth has he left them!!!!
Of course, besides their fun and active terrier nature, butter really wouldn't melt.....(oh yes it would!)...
They do say that dogs resemble their owners,, as you can see - Archie is taking it all in his stride, kicking back and watching TV with Nick!...
