This page introduces our wonderful boys, Archie (Carradine Night Listener at Harkinleigh) and Angus (Carradine Maybe the Moon at Harkinleigh), and their very first few weeks with us. Puppy time is always great fun, very memorable and lots of (good) hard work!
Firstly, this is mum, Maddie, who has been a great mum and raised the boys fantastically. Here she is doing her 'duty' by providing warm dinner for the little ones.
So, here are the very first pictures of us with Archie and Angus, just before their 9 week birthday, and their first days at home. This was an incredibly exciting day for us as we'd waited a long time for these 2 to come home. With the help of Dawn and Rosemary, and our own prefernces in the pups we liked, we had the hard decision about which 2 of the 4 dogs to choose. But you will no doubt agree that they are gorgeous....and so off we went to pick them up on 20th October 2007 and they arrived home. A very settled journey in the car in their pen with Gerry sitting next to them - spent the journey sleeping and having a little look around, all very relaxed. Once home, they explored the garden, wee'd everywhere (!) and we had an afternoon and evening of playing, feeding and cuddling!
This is first picture of the boys on their way home in the car...
So here are the very first pictures of Archie and Angus at home.....(Archie has the red collar on)....
And another one of the boys playing....
Here with Nick...
And the boys enjoying their new bed...
So far, so good. We're keeping a close eye on them for toilet training and having a lot of fun playing with them and watching them get into mischief! Collars were on on their first day and they seem to be quite used to them. Feeding is comical - they stand eating their dinner with their little tails wagging in sheer happiness!
We'll update the site with more pictures as we take them....lunch time now!!!
So, first full day with them nearly over and we're certainly getting used to characters and how their day works - mainly orientated around fun!
Bursts of energy seem to be after feeding time - lots of tearing around and getting into 'trouble' but we've taken a consistent and firm hand in telling them whats allowed and whats not, normally directing either pup to a toy to chew rather than pulling the curtains off the rails! They are two quite different characters, Archie is quite confident and seems more independent, Angus is a little more reserved and more cuddly, although he starts more fights than Archie does!
The boys 'in action'...
Here is a pic of them playing...you can't make either of them out, but thats because the camera doesn't have fast enough shutter speed when they're going crazy!!!
The thing is, we're not sure that they've settled at home, they never get comfy.....!!!
And then there was the 'first friends' over to meet them. Seemed to take that on board without much hassle and loved the whole experience!!!
Archie with Jules...
And Angus with Neil...
And Angus here in a couple of pics relaxing in the garden (oh, and looking beautiful...)...
Ready for a tummy rub!
And here are some of them both relaxing in the conservatory after a long day of playing, eating and going to the loo...a lot!
